Our blackberries

We chose three THORNLESS varieties of blackberries to grow on our farm. All of our blackberry varieties come from the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture. UA is well known for its blackberry breading program and the cultivars they release are planted all over the world.

Ouachita

Rows 1-4

One of the most popular blackberry varieties in the US. Ouachita plants have sweet, medium to large, firm fruit, with a traditional blackberry flavor. Perfect jam, cobbler, or baking berry! Awesome to snack on fresh.

Pronounced WAH-shi-tah.

Caddo

Rows 5-6

Sweet, aromatic, large berries. Caddos get huge and are full of flavor. They can even taste like apple juice or grapes! Caddos store well and will make delicious cobblers or jams!

We call them KEY-does, pronounce KAH-do if you want to sound proper…

Ponca

Rows 7-8

Very sweet, mild-flavored, medium-size berries. Tons of ripe fruit on compact bushes make them a breeze to pick. They have almost no tangy undertones. You will come back for these!

Pronounced Ponk-Uh.
